Important - SeaLife recommends removing the spiral-sleeve protector or cables may break
We have learned that the spiral-shaped sleeve which covers the cable
(shown below) must be removed in order to prevent breaking the cable.
The following step-by-step instructions show you how to remove this
sleeve. You may either remove the sleeve or the SeaLife Service Dept
will do this for you under warranty.
1. Firmly grab the cable near the white connector and pull up to remove.
|
4. Important: rotate the cable once (360 degrees) before connecting it to the flash
|
2. Pull the connector to disconnect the cable from the flash.
|
5. Connect the cable into the flash making sure to push down all the way.
|
3. Remove the sleeve by grabbing the end and unwrapping it from the cable.
|
6. Check to make sure the cable does not get trapped in the sealing area of the waterproof door. Test fire the flash.

2. Corrections to Instruction Manual
Page 7: Under "TIPS", it is okay to use alkaline batteries.
It is also acceptable to use any brand of NiMH rechargeable AA
batteries.
Page 10 and 20: For SeaLife cameras, set the Auto Bright switch to
#1 (not # 4).
Page 28: Do not remove the o-ring or gasket for cleaning purposes.
Clean off any dirt, hair and debris from the o-ring and sealing
surfaces with a damp cotton cloth while keeping the o-ring and gasket
in place.
Page 30: Step 5 - When performing a quick waterproof test before
entering the water, it is normal to see a stream of bubbles coming
from the flash head. The bubbles are actually coming from air trapped
in the flash arm and neck area.
Page 31: After each dive, when opening the waterproof door, make
sure to hold the flash with the door facing down. This will prevent
any water drops from entering the inside of the flash.

4. How can I avoid rust stains on the stainless steel parts?
The DC600 uses marine grade stainless steel hardware, which is ideal
for use in saltwater and marine environment. If not cared for
properly, rust stains may appear on surfaces. Make sure to rinse off
the camera with fresh water after each use. Dry before storage. Make
sure to completely remove the clear protective film that covers the
metal face plate. Keep all metal surfaces clean. Avoid contact of the
camera's stainless steel parts with other inferior metals - This
may contaminate the camera's metal parts and cause rust staining.
Rust stains should wipe off with soft plastic bristle brush or clean
moist cloth. A great source for more information on stainless steel is
http://www.ssina.com/knowledgebase/.
If the rust stain does not clean off, or if you see that rust stains
have entered inside the shaft of the metal buttons [which usually will
result in the button sticking], contact your local authorized SeaLife
dealer or contact SeaLife Customer Service Center for repair service.
